Regina police say a fentanyl trafficking investigation has resulted in two Calgary men facing several drug charges.
On June 11, police completed their investigation in the City View area of Regina. A CDSA search warrant was executed in the 500 block of Lorne Street resulting in the seizure of approximately 500 grams of fentanyl, $21,000 currency, a small amount of cocaine, multiple cell phones and digital scales.
As a result of the investigation, 24-year-old Lazarus Teny and 24-year-old Akol Paul Ture — both from Calgary — were jointly charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking (fentanyl), proceeds of proceeds of crime over $5,000 and possession of cocaine.
In addition, Teny was charged with breach of court recognizance and breach of a probation order.
Ture was also charged with possession of a weapon (bear spray) dangerous to the public, three charges of possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition, breach of a court recognizance and breach of a probation order.
Both men appeared in Regina Provincial Court on Friday.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Teny was found guilty on Nov. 14, 2022 on charges of possession of cocaine and breach of probation and was fined $500.
