Some major changes are coming to Dewdney Avenue in Regina.
The city has announced the Dewdney Avenue Twinning Project, which will upgrade the stretch between Courtney Street and Pinkie Road from two to four lanes.
It anticipates the project will cost $4 million. Construction will begin this June. The goal is to complete most of the work by the end of this year, with some touch-ups in the spring of 2021.
“This project will enhance safety for the 4,800 commuters using this roadway everyday and I’m pleased to see the work beginning,” said Mayor Michael Fougere.
New streetlights, landscaped medians and dedicated left-turn bays will also be installed. Some drainage work will be done as well.
