8:30 – Distance and disinfection will be the keys to safely resuming school in the fall according to Education Minister Gordon Wyant. Wyant unveiled the guidelines for schools to keep K-12 students safe from COVID-19 Thursday and, while masks and PPE are optional, the guidelines stressed social distancing and staggering times as much as possible to prevent large gatherings of students. Wyant joins Gormley to discuss the balance between minimizing the risk to students and keeping school as normal as possible under the circumstances.

12:00 – The U of S is establishing itself as Canada’s first state-of-the-art road safety research hub, including a new facility featuring high-tech car and truck simulators to allow for improved research and rehabilitation for high-risk drivers. Dr. Alexander Crizzle is leading the research, and he says their unique truck simulator, which replicates everything in a real vehicle, will be used to study the effects of fatigue and cannabis on drivers and a lot more.
