Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for much of southern Saskatchewan — including Regina — due to temperatures that are expected to be well above normal.
According to the statement, a mass of hot air will enter the region Friday, forcing temperatures into the low 30s. After dropping into the mid to upper teens overnight, the temperature is expected to climb into the low to mid 30s on Saturday.
“When combined with the humidity, humidex values in the upper 30s are expected for Saturday,” the statement said. “Conditions are expected to improve slightly Saturday night as a cold front slides eastward across the region.”
The advisory covers areas around Regina, Assiniboia, Gravelbourg, Coronach, Carlyle, Oxbow, Carnduff, Bienfait, Stoughton, Estevan, Weyburn, Radville, Milestone, Fort Qu’Appelle, Indian Head, Lumsden, Pilot Butte, Moosomin, Grenfell, Kipling, Wawota, Yorkton, Melville and Esterhazy.
