Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for areas of southeastern Saskatchewan.
The alert covers areas around Carlyle, Oxbow, Carnduff, Bienfait, Stoughton, Moosomin, Grenfell, Kipling and Wawota.
“Severe thunderstorms associated with a low pressure system currently in North Dakota are expected to push northwards into Canada by early this afternoon,” the alert said. “Large hail, torrential downpours and damaging wind gusts will be associated with the strongest of these thunderstorms.
“The threat of severe weather will begin to push eastward tonight as the low pressure system evolves.”
