An apartment building in Kindersley had to be evacuated Monday after RCMP officers found a suspicious object in one of the apartments.
In a media release, the Kindersley RCMP said officers were called to a building on West Road to assist the sheriff’s department with an eviction. The 67-year-old male tenant was taken to hospital by crisis workers for treatment of a pre-existing condition.
Inside the apartment, the RCMP officers found guns and ammunition as well as a suspicious object. That prompted the officers to call the Explosive Disposal Unit and to evacuate the building.
It’s unknown what the object was.
The RCMP said the investigation is continuing, but no charges have been laid at this time.
