A Vancouver-based company has been fined $182,000 in connection with a workplace injury that occurred in Hudson Bay in October 2017.
Weyerhaeuser Company Limited was fined June 23 after pleading guilty to one count under The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
The company pleaded guilty on Nov. 26 in Hudson Bay Provincial Court to failing to provide a working environment to ensure the safety of its employees.
The incident occurred Oct. 5, 2017, when a worker suffered a serious injury after being hit by a forklift.
The company was fined $130,000 with a $52,000 surcharge.
