10:00 – Canada responded to China’s passage of Hong Kong security legislation Friday, with Foreign Affairs Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne suspending Canada-Hong Kong extradition and declaring that Canada will no longer allow the export of military hardware to Hong Kong. Charles Burton, fellow at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute and expert on Canada/China relations, joins Gormley to share his thoughts on the situation in Hong Kong, why Canadians should care, and whether he’s satisfied with Canada’s response.

10:30 – The Ministry of Environment has made changes to hunting permits to allow for the use of motorized wheelchairs by disabled hunters. It’s something that Bobbie Cherapuschak has been pushing for, as he’s an avid hunter by spina bifida means he uses a wheelchair for mobility. He’s also working with the Sask. Wildlife Federation to see about purchasing one or two specialized wheelchairs to allow other people with disabilities to enjoy hunting. Cherapuschak, who’s drawing for moose this year, joins Gormley to tell him more.

11:00 – SGI’s traffic safety spotlight for July is on work zones, and they’re still trying to teach Saskatchewan drivers how to zipper merge properly. 12:00 – Saskatoon-born actor Kim Coates, who you know from Sons of Anarchy and Bad Blood, is the spokesperson for STARS’ Pegasus Project. They’re auctioning off a 1968 custom Ford Mustang at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, with all the funds coming back to Saskatchewan. Coates joins John now to discuss the project and why it’s so important for us to support STARS.
