Six games or no games. I thought the answer would be pretty simple when it comes to how badly CFL fans want to see football this season.
Surprisingly, there are more than a few who want zero rather than just one-third of a season.
They claim it’s not a legitimate season to produce a champion worthy of hoisting the Grey Cup, so just cancel it and get your ducks in a row for 2021 and beyond.
I’m sorry, but just give me some CFL action. I’ll take a six-week to eight-week regular season and the traditional three-week playoffs easily.
As for the legitimacy of the champion: Do you call into question the Saskatchewan Roughriders winning after Winnipeg Blue Bombers quarterback Kevin Glenn broke his left arm the week before in 2007? Should there be an asterisk for the Ice Bowl or the Fog Bowl or the Snow Bowl?
Nine teams will have the same number of games and will still have to win three straight games at the end to win it all.
It’ll be different, no doubt. But at least it’s something.
