Toronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo has the right mindset when approaching the abridged Major League Baseball season.
Montoyo was quite clear there are a few ways to look at the season and the regulations to try and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He prefers to take a quite simple and basic approach. Rather than complain and whine and possibly even not comply with the rules, he believes the Blue Jays’ best chance at winning is to just play by the rules, show up every day and focus on baseball.
It was actually quite a refreshing opinion among all the social media noise some players are making.
The more you take the proper precautions, the more likely your team will remain healthy and you won’t lose anybody during the season. That increases your chances to win.
With leadership like that, maybe the Blue Jays have a better shot than I’m giving them in this shortened 2020 season.
