The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan dropped to 43 on Friday.
In a media release, the provincial government announced there were two new cases, both in the central region. Those raised the total number of cases in Saskatchewan to date to 815.
Seven people were deemed to have recovered, increasing that total so far to 757. To date, 15 residents of Saskatchewan have died due to complications from COVID-19.
Despite the low numbers reported Friday, the Saskatchewan Health Authority preached vigilance in a media release.
It referred to the public service announcements it issued regarding cases in the Saskatoon, Lloydminster, Prince Albert and southwest areas of the province.
“We are seeing more positive cases of COVID-19 popping up around the province, reminding us that COVID-19 is everywhere and has no boundaries,” Dr. David Torr, the SHA’s Public Health Incident Command Centre Co-lead, said in the release. “Across Saskatchewan, we need to be more vigilant when it comes to preventing the spread of the virus.”
Of the active cases, 21 are in the far north, seven are in the north, six are in Saskatoon, five are in the south and four are in the central region. Only Regina doesn’t have any active cases to report.
