Members of the Regina Police Service are mourning the loss of Sgt. Ryan Ellingson.
Police said Ellingson died at his home due to health-related issues. He was a member of the police service for 15 years, serving in the Community Services Division on patrol.
In a Twitter post, RPS said Ellingson was described by his colleagues as a big influence, a true leader, a teacher and mentor, irreplaceable, humble, positive, dependable and approachable.
@reginapolice RPS has lost one of our best. To say Sgt Ellingson was a compassionate, intelligent and moral person is an understatement. He was a humble and supportive person. #tourcomplete708 pic.twitter.com/FncuDgoTr7
