Police said Ellingson died at his home due to health-related issues. He was a member of the police service for 15 years, serving in the Community Services Division on patrol.
In a Twitter post, RPS said Ellingson was described by his colleagues as a big influence, a true leader, a teacher and mentor, irreplaceable, humble, positive, dependable and approachable.
