Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crime Unit North has charged a ninth person in connection to the death of 25-year-old Tiki Laverdiere, whose body was found outside of North Battleford in July 2019.
In a release Sunday morning, Major Crimes say 33-year-old Charles St. Savard of Edmonton, Alberta has been charged with first-degree murder in relation to her death, along with kidnapping.
Over the course of the year, eight have been charged, or have been sentenced, for their roles in the homicide of Laverdiere.
St. Savard was arrested in Edmonton on Friday.
He is scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday.
Laverdiere had travelled from Edmonton to North Battleford for a funeral in May 2019 when she disappeared.
Her remains were found outside of the city in July.
Major Crimes has continued its investigation after making its last arrest in connection to the Laverdiere case back in August.
