Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for areas of eastern Saskatchewan.
The areas covered by Monday’s watch are around Moosomin, Grenfell, Kipling, Wawota, Yorkton, Melville and Esterhazy.
The alert said the thunderstorms could produce strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
“A cold front tracking across eastern Saskatchewan and western Manitoba is triggering scattered thunderstorms this afternoon,” the alert said. “Some of these thunderstorms may briefly reach severe thresholds.
“This severe thunderstorm watch may be expanded eastwards as the afternoon and evening progresses.”
