'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
A man has been arrested and charged after having a knife and a loaded gun on him at the General Hospital.
The incident occurred around 3:18 p.m. on Tuesday on the 1400 block of 14th Avenue. Police received a report of a man on hospital premises and refusing to drop a knife after being challenged by hospital security staff.
Police arrived and found a 26-year-old man who dropped the knife when police arrived and attempted to flee.
After a search following the arrest, police located a loaded sawed-off .22 calibre rifle and an over-capacity magazine in a backpack.
The man has been charged for the initial weapons offence involving the knife as well as the discovery of the gun and ammo.
