An investigation into five armed robberies that occurred in late 2016 has resulted in charges against a 35-year-old Regina man.
According to the Regina Police Service, the man was charged by the RPS Investigative Services Division.
The first robbery occurred Oct. 16, 2016, when masked suspects — one carrying a gun — entered a restaurant in the 400 block of Broad Street North at about 11:50 p.m., and demanded cash.
The second occurred Nov. 11, 2016 when, at 1:22 a.m., two suspects wearing masks and carrying guns went into a restaurant in the 1300 block of Broadway Avenue and got away with cash.
On Nov. 14, 2016, at 11:38 p.m., masked suspects carrying guns entered a business in the 200 block of Albert Street North and left with cash.
The fourth robbery occurred just before 7 p.m., on Dec. 11, 2016, when a business in the 100 block of University Park East was held up by masked suspects armed with guns.
Then, on Dec. 22, 2016, at about 1:50 a.m., the restaurant in the 400 block of Broad Street North was held up again by suspects wearing masks and carrying guns.
The man was arrested July 9 and has been charged with five counts each of armed robbery using a firearm and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, and one count of identity fraud/possession of identity documents.
