Saskatchewan added five new cases of COVID-19 Sunday, bringing the provincial total to 943.
Four of the five new cases are in the Central region, while the other is in Saskatoon.
Three more cases reported on July 11 have been update to a negative result and they’ve been removed from the total number of cases.
Of the 943 reported cases, 129 are considered active with 799 people recovered from the virus.
Twelve people are in the hospital, with nine in inpatient care and three under intensive care.
Five people are receiving inpatient care in Saskatoon, three more in the South and one remaining in the North.
Two others in Saskatoon are receiving help in intensive care and one more is in the South region.
To date, 81,624 COVID-19 tests have been performed in Saskatchewan.
The province also reminded residents to be aware of the increase in cases in the southwest and west-central areas of Saskatchewan. That goes both for in colonies and in the broader community.
“While most of the recent new cases have been in southwest and west-central Saskatchewan, the risk of COVID-19 transmission continues to exist in every part of the province,” the release states.
COVID-19 testing is available for anyone who requests it, regardless of symptoms. A referral for testing can be made by contacting HealthLine 811.
