Firefighters had to put out a fire in the basement of a duplex on Fines Drive on Thursday morning.
The fire department said the 911 call came in at about 3:40 a.m., and crews were able to evacuate the home without any reports of injuries.
Deputy Fire Chief Neil Sundeen credited working smoke alarms with giving residents early warning about the blaze, allowing them to call for help promptly.
Fire inspectors will be back on scene later in the day to determine the cause.
