The violent robbery of a Regina delivery driver in May has a 30-year-old man facing serious charges now.
According to police, the robbery happened in the early morning of May 30. A 23-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle on his phone after finishing a food delivery in east Regina.
That’s when police say a man knocked on the window. When the victim opened the window to see what the man wanted, the man opened the door and dragged the driver out of the vehicle into a nearby house and into the basement.
The victim was beaten up several times and forced to inhale and take unknown substances which police believe were drugs. The victim was forced to transfer money to his attacker and then was taken to an ATM to take more money out.
Police didn’t say how the victim got away.
On Sunday, a 30-year-old man was arrested for the crime and he’s being charged with robbery, forcible confinement, and overcoming resistance by administering drugs.
Police are still looking for a woman they believe was involved.
