The arrival of hot weather this week has prompted more heat warnings in Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada expanded heating warnings Tuesday afternoon to Saskatoon and nearly all of western and central Saskatchewan.
Regina is not under the heat warning.
The alerts say temperatures will reach 32 C during the day and will stay at or above 16 C overnight for the next 3 days. The combination meets the criteria for a warning in the southern half of the province.
The criteria in the northern half of the province is a daytime high of 29 C and overnight lows at or above 14 C for two consecutive days.
Environment Canada’s Chris Stammer said while it will be warm, it shouldn’t be too uncomfortable.
“It’s more of a dry heat, compared to what we’ve seen earlier in the summer. So that makes it a little easier to deal with.”
The weather agency said the warmest day of the week for many areas will be on Thursday, before a slight cool down with temperatures in the upper 20s.
