RCMP say a young boy drowned at Tobin Lake on Saturday.
The six year old was swimming with his family when he went missing in the water.
He was located a short time later by his family, unresponsive.
EMS and police responded. CPR and other efforts were made but were not successful.
“Just an absolute tragedy,” said RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Rob King.
King added conditions were windy and the water was quite rough.
Tobin Lake is located 30 kilometres northeast of Nipawin.
