A woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries Friday after a car-pedestrian collision that closed a section of Broad Street for more than four hours.
According to the Regina Police Service, the incident happened at about 9 a.m., in the area of Broad Street and Quinn Drive near Wascana Centre.
Police say their investigation showed the woman was crossing from the east side of Broad to the west side when she was struck by a northbound vehicle.
After the incident, two cars were stopped in a taped-off area near the intersection. A covering was draped over the front bumper of one of the vehicles.
Multiple police cruisers were on the scene, and several officers were taking measurements and photos.
Paramedics transported the woman to hospital while officers interviewed witnesses and closed the road to begin their investigation.
Broad Street was reopened at about 1:30 p.m.
Police are continuing their investigation, but are asking anyone who has information but who has not yet been interviewed to call 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
