A severe thunderstorm watch was issued Friday for areas of southeastern Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada put out the watches for areas around Carlyle, Oxbow, Carnduff, Bienfait, Stoughton, Moosomin, Grenfell, Kipling, Wawota, Yorkton, Melville and Esterhazy.
A thunderstorm warning in effect for the Carlyle area was lifted.
The weather service said the storms could produce strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.
“Condtions are favourable for short-lived severe thunderstorms to develop over the watch region,” the alerts read.
“Thunderstorms of these nature will typically develop quickly into a mature thunderstorm capable of producing severe weather, and then dissipate quickly as well. This watch may be extended as the day goes on.”
