A 30-year-old man from Lebret who was shot in Regina on Aug. 1 died Saturday, making him the city’s ninth murder victim of 2020.
The Regina Police Service announced the death of Earl Francis Dufour in a media release Monday.
Two Regina residents — 22-year-old Dominick Mark Cochrane and 23-year-old Angelica Violet Taypotat — initially were charged with attempted murder. They’re now both facing a charge of first-degree murder.
On Aug. 1, officers responded to a report of a firearms offence on Krauss Street, in the city’s Mount Royal neighbourhood.
On the scene, police and paramedics found a man who had been shot. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
On Aug. 2, SWAT and canine teams joined other officers in a raid on a house on Wolfe Place, where the suspects were found and arrested.
Cochrane and Taypotat were to appear in court Monday afternoon.
