A potentially dangerous situation was avoided as Regina police stopped an allegedly reckless driver Thursday morning.
Just before 5 a.m, police say a 23-year-old woman was speeding near the intersection of Albert Street and Dewdney Avenue.
Officers tried to pull her over, but she sped off and tried to get away.
Eventually, cops were able to lay down a spike belt near Broad and Sixth Avenue, stopping the vehicle.
She was arrested and charged with impaired driving, flight from an officer and dangerous driving.
Police also found bear spray on her, and are laying charges for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
