The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit South arrested Richard Flett late Sunday after charging the 21-year-old with second-degree murder.
A warrant was issued for Flett’s arrest after 24-year-old Brett McKay was found stabbed and declared dead at a Red Earth Cree Nation home around 5:45 a.m. on Friday.
The RCMP discovered during its initial investigation that McKay was at a large social gathering, referred to as “the reservoir” at the Red Earth Cree Nation. He was later driven to a house while injured that same morning.
