An arrest has been made in connection with the theft of aluminum canoes from a Regina Public Schools compound in mid-August.
In a media release Thursday, the Regina Police Service said a 44-year-old man has been charged with breaking, entering and committing an indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
The man was arrested Wednesday after members of the Property Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at a house in the 100 block of Smith Street. There, officers found three of the four stolen canoes.
Police were called Aug. 16 about a break-in to the school board’s compound in the 2200 block of Pasqua Street. The canoes had been taken sometime between July 1 and Aug. 16.
The man is to appear in court Oct. 20.
