The SJHL has announced that a player on the Melfort Mustangs has tested positive for COVID-19.
“The Saskatchewan Jr. Hockey League, City of Melfort (and) the Melfort Mustangs acknowledge a player has tested positive for COVID 19,” a release from the league said.
The release said the player and close contacts have been notified and advised to self-isolate.
“The case and contact protocols and guidelines set by the Saskatchewan Health Authority were followed and are being followed,” the release added.
There were no details given on where the player was from. There has been limited contact in the community.
The City of Melfort also sent out a release regarding the positive test. The city said it will be suspending activities at the Northern Lights Palace Arena and Kerry Vickar Centre to allow time for enhanced cleaning.
