Weapons offence
Early Monday, a 17-year-old male was arrested after a report of a weapons offence.
At about 1:20 a.m., police were called to a home in the 100 block of Mikkelson Drive, where they were told a vehicle had been shot with a BB gun and a 20-year-old man had been sprayed with bear spray or mace. The suspects had taken off in another vehicle.
About 10 minutes later, officers found and stopped the suspect vehicle. The driver and lone occupant was arrested and a search turned up a BB gun and a can of mace.
The teen, who can’t be named under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was charged with two counts of possession of a weapon and one count each of mischief under $5,000, assault with a weapon, discharging an air gun or pistol with intent, pointing a firearm, and using an imitation firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.
He made his first appearance in Youth Court on Tuesday.
