A former member of the Moose Jaw Police Service has withdrawn the appeal of his dismissal from the force.
In a media release Thursday, the police service said it had received notice that Alan Murdock was dropping his appeal, which was scheduled to begin next Tuesday.
The department said it would have more information to share Friday.
Murdock was fired in June of 2019 amid allegations of misconduct. He had been with the Moose Jaw Police Service for 30 years.
His appeal initially was to be heard by the Saskatchewan Police Commission on Aug. 31, but was adjourned to Sept. 8 and then again to Tuesday.
It’s unclear why Murdock decided to drop his appeal.
