TORONTO — The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed forward Denis Malgin to a one-year contract extension worth US$700,000.
The 23-year-old Malgin played in eight regular-season games with the Maple Leafs after being acquired in a Feb. 19 trade with the Florida Panthers.
In 192 career NHL games with Florida and Toronto, the Olten, Switzerland native has recorded 60 points (28 goals, 32 assists).
Internationally, Malgin has represented Switzerland at the 2017 world championship and the 2015 and 2016 world junior championships.
Malgin was originally selected by Florida in the fourth round (102nd overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
