Trick-or-treaters in Regina will have a new place to hit this Halloween.
Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) has announced it will hold “Trick or Treat with REAL” at Mosaic Stadium on Oct. 31. The event, which is for kids 12 and under, is to run from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
“During these (COVID-19) times, we wanted to do something for the kids in our community that would feel as normal as possible,” Tim Reid, the CEO and president of REAL, said in a media release.
“It hasn’t been easy for anyone, but especially for our children, during the summer months missing out on so many fun events and then returning to school, which also may seem so different for them. This way the kids can dress up in their costumes and still be able to collect their candy, in a safe way, and have the fun memories of trick-or-treating this year.”
Children will be able to collect goodies on the concourse of Mosaic Stadium from more than 20 organizations and companies, including the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Regina Pats and the Regina Chamber of Commerce.
Admission is free, but each child must have a ticket. Registration for tickets is to begin Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. There’s a maximum of five tickets per customer.
Those who want to attend must pre-register online for a designated time slot. Space is limited.
Due to COVID-19 precautions, groups will be limited to six people (including parents or guardians, who don’t require a ticket) and only one group can be at a giveaway station at any one time. Kids will receive a trick-or-treat bag when they arrive.
