A 49-year-old Regina man is facing a number of charges after he was arrested with a loaded rifle outside the Pasqua Hospital on Wednesday evening.
According to the Regina Police Service, officers were called at approximately 6:30 p.m., to an area just outside the hospital on Dewdney Avenue.
A caller said there was a man outside the building who had been there for hours and was acting erratically. The caller also said they saw what appeared to be a sawed-off gun sticking out of the man’s backpack.
Officers arrived and took the man into custody without incident. He was found to be in possession of a loaded, sawed-off .22-calibre rifle, .22-calibre ammunition and methamphetamine.
He’s facing seven weapons charges and one of possession of a scheduled substance.
