Why is LeBron James getting credit for being a vagabond basketball player?
It’s the one “record” James is being lauded for but I just don’t think it’s that big of a deal. He is the first player to win an NBA championship with three different teams and be named playoff MVP with all three.
I don’t believe this is something that should be regarded as an incredible feat. The basketball business has seen all-star after all-star leave and set up superteams.
This is why LeBron has changed teams because instead of staying in one place to build anything that would be close to the Michael Jordan Bulls’ dynasty, LeBron took advantage of the business of basketball to set up a superteam in Miami, then again in Cleveland and now, with Anthony Davis, he’s got one in Los Angeles.
All this record shows is loyalty is dead in basketball.
This isn’t the fault of LeBron or anyone else. The players have more and more power, and they’re using it to the best of their ability.
It’s that power that has enabled LeBron to make a ton of money, while building championship teams with younger superstars of the day.
