Two people are facing robbery charges after a business owner was roughed up in the northwest part of the city.
Police were called Wednesday afternoon to a store in the 200 block of Edward Street.
The owner told police that a man and woman entered the store and an argument ensued.
“When the owner asked the pair to leave, the male allegedly pulled wires out of the wall, disconnecting electronic equipment. It’s also alleged the female suspect took merchandise without paying,” says a news release from police.
Police say the owner was struck in the head, the beating spilling over into the parking lot.
“Fortunately, the victim sustained only relatively minor injuries,” the release says.
The two suspects ran away but were later arrested.
A 35-year-old man and 24-year-old woman have been charged with robbery. The man is also charged with mischief under $5,000.
