'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
A Regina sex offender has been arrested once again, but not on any new criminal charges.
Steven Brian Ewanchuk, 71, was the subject of a public advisory in June, when he was released from custody and moved into the city’s Heritage neighbourhood.
In that facility, his activities were supervised and monitored.
Ewanchuk was arrested Monday morning by Regina police officers after the Correctional Service of Canada deemed it necessary for the “protection of society.”
Police added they were worried about his risk to offend again.
Over the past 50 years, Ewanchuk has accumulated eight convictions for sex offences and four for non-compliance with court-ordered conditions.
