A 33-year-old Regina man is facing charges after he allegedly tried to pass off counterfeit money at four Regina businesses.
In a media release Monday, the Regina Police Service said the man had been arrested in connection with alleged fraud and counterfeiting activities at a restaurant in the 3700 block of Chuka Boulevard on Oct. 5, a store in the 2900 block of Gordon Road on Oct. 8, a business in the 5700 block of Rochdale Boulevard on Oct. 10, and a business in the 3400 block of East Quance Street on Oct. 12.
After identifying the suspect, investigators went to his address Sunday, but negotiations to have him leave the house failed. Officers got a warrant to search the premises and the man was arrested.
He’s facing four counts of uttering or using counterfeit money, three counts each of fraud under $5,000 and breach of probation, and one count of resisting arrest.
