The University of Regina has informed students that a software program used to prevent cheating on remote exams will be back in service on Thursday after a security breach last week.
An email was sent to students saying the company behind Proctortrack has confirmed that user data was not exposed during the breach.
“The provider has further assured its clients that the vulnerability that led to the breach — which prompted the temporary shutdown of services — has been fully addressed and that its security measures have been updated,” it says.
“Verificient is also working to develop enhanced privacy measures. Further updates on those will be provided as details become available.”
The University of Regina Students’ Union is planning to hold an online town hall about Proctortrack on Wednesday night.
