SYDNEY, N.S. — Elliot Desnoyers scored four times as the Halifax Mooseheads beat the Cape Breton Eagles 10-2 in Cape Breton on Saturday evening.
Desnoyers scored his first of the night in the opening period before scoring three times in the third. Landon Miron added two goals for Halifax (3-4-1). Zachary L’Heureux, Robert Orr, James Swan and Liam Peyton also scored for the Mooseheads.
Félix Lafrance and Lucas Canning scored for the Eagles (3-5-0).
Brady James saved 21 shots for Halifax. Nicolas Ruccia combined with William Grimard for 24 saves for Cape Breton.
Halifax outshot Cape Breton 34-23.
TITAN 5 SEA DOGS 3
SAINT JOHN, N.B. — The Acadie-Bathurst Titan swamped the Saint John Sea Dogs 5-3 in Saint John.
The Sea Dogs (1-3-2) ended the first period with a 2-1 lead thanks to goals from Julien Vander Voet and Alex Drover. The Titan had one goal from Logan Chisholm.
The Titan (7-0-1) then scored four unanswered goals in the second period. Félix-Antoine Marcotty, Cole Huckins, Mark Rumsey and Mathieu Desgagnés each scored a goal.
Joshua Roy scored for the third and final goal for the Sea Dogs.
Chad Arsenault made 28 saves for Acadie-Bathurst. Noah Patenaude combined with Creed Jones for 26 saves for Saint John.
Saint John outshot Acadie-Bathurst 41-31.
ISLANDERS 4 WILDCATS 1
CHARLOTTETOWN — The Charlottetown Islanders sunk the Moncton Wildcats 4-1 in Charlottetown on Saturday evening.
Sam Oliver, Lukas Cormier, Cédric Desruisseaux and Thomas Casey scored for the Islanders (6-1-0).
Philippe Daoust scored the lone goal for the Wildcats (1-4-0).
Jacob Goobie turned aside 21 shots for Charlottetown. Dakota Lund-Cornish turned aside 30 shots for Moncton.
Charlottetown outshot Moncton 34-22.
