Online tributes are pouring in for Joe Garcea, a popular professor of political studies at the University of Saskatchewan who has passed away.
Garcea was not only a big part of the U of S community, but was also part of the public and media landscape as a go-to expert who could break down and analyze election campaigns and results at every level.
It is with a heavy heart that we say good bye to Professor Joe Garcea. A better colleague and friend we could not hope for. He will be terribly missed and always remembered. pic.twitter.com/kQjWZIHpYB

Garcea began his career at the U of S in 1987. In 2018 he was honoured with the Master Teacher Award — the highest teaching honour at the U of S.
The phrase “A gentleman and a scholar,” gets overused but in Joe’s case it truly applies. He joined us for election nights and political conventions and always brought unique insight. https://t.co/8sj8AizbWS
