10:00 – There have been some exciting developments on the COVID vaccine front recently, including the work being done right here in Saskatchewan. To tell us more, Gormley is joined by Dr. Volker Gerdts, director and CEO of VIDO-InterVac. His team recently acquired a new CT scanner, which will be used on COVID-infected animals to get comprehensive, real-time analysis of COVID-19 disease progression.

11:00 – APAS’ Rural Connectivity Task Force is working to improve connectivity in rural parts of the province. As part of the project, which involves meeting with experts and service providers and advocating for better connectivity, APAS is asking rural residents to participate in their Internet speed test to give them a better understanding of baseline Internet speeds. The test is online at apas.ca/speed-test, and Task Force Chair Jeremy Welter joins Gormley to tell us more.

12:00 – Paramedic, singer and advocate Nicholas Hennink is bringing his “We Are Warriors” anti-bullying campaign to Saskatchewan schools to help educate young people about the realities and effects of bullying. This year he’s partnered with 13-year-old singer Zach Rhine and filmed a music video about bullying at Moose Jaw’s Sunningdale School. The song is a cover of “Numb,” by Linkin Park, and Hennink says the lyrics really resonate with those who have experienced bullying. Hennink joins Gormley to tell us more.
