With more demand at Regina’s COVID-19 drive-through testing site, the Saskatchewan Health Authority is making a change to help reduce the traffic spilling onto Dewdney Avenue.
Beginning Friday, people seeking a test at the Evraz Place facility will enter on 11th Avenue from Lewvan Drive on the west side of the complex.
The SHA said the change will allow Evraz staff to better monitor traffic flow, keep lineups contained to the Evraz site and allow easier notification of estimated wait times and testing capacity.
The entry point used to be on the north side of Evraz Place off of Dewdney Avenue.
If a person wishes to be tested at the drive-through site, they must bring a valid Saskatchewan Health Card or another form of valid photo ID. As well, masks must be worn.
The Regina testing site has seen a large increase in demand, averaging 550 tests a day. The SHA said wait times can range anywhere from nothing at all to more than three hours.
People going to the Evraz complex on Wednesdays or Saturdays for the SHA flu immunization clinic will access the site from the Elphinstone Street entrance on the east side by Mosaic Stadium.
