9:00 – The Hour of the Big Stories… Open Session
10:00 – Keith Moen, exec director of the NSBA, says COVID-19 has created an “us vs them” mentality that portrays the business community as evil, uncaring, and willing to sacrifice public health for the sake of their profits. According to Moen, commerce and public health are both important to a healthy society, and most businesspeople are working to ensure their life’s work survives. He says the politicized, polarized views on the business community aren’t helping, and wants more people to understand the realities faced by local businesses. Moen joins Gormley to make his case for public health measures that don’t harm businesses.

11:00 – Christmas in a pandemic will mean some of our traditions won’t happen this year and people are getting creative in how they’ll celebrate in a safe way. With it being such a stressful year, people are putting their Christmas decorations up earlier or going “all-out” in hopes of bringing the Christmas Spirit in. Real Christmas trees are more popular than ever and we could see more outdoor decorations this year. What change are you making to your Christmas season routine this year? Are you giving more to those in need? Crafting gifts? Sending written cards? Decorating more and earlier than before? Give Gormley a call at 1-877-332-8255.
