A resident of Churchbridge is dead after a highway collision just outside Yorkton on Monday.
In a media release, Yorkton RCMP confirmed that a vehicle struck a semi around 5 p.m. The car was heading south on Highway 9 when it hit the rear trailer of a semi that was travelling west on Highway 16.
RCMP say the driver of the car, a 43-year-old man, died in an ambulance while being taken to hospital. A 42-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car suffered critical injuries and was taken to hospital in Regina.
Both were residents of Churchbridge, which is about 50 kilometres southeast of Yorkton.
The 67-year-old man driving the semi was not hurt.
Police continue to investigate.
