Students at Lumsden High School won’t be back in the building until the new year.
In a media release Thursday, the Prairie Valley School Division said the school — which was closed Nov. 24 due to COVID-19 — would not open until Jan. 4.
The school was closed after several positive tests were reported and students moved to online learning. In-person learning was to resume next Monday.
But according to Thursday’s release, the decision was made to keep the school closed “to continue to reduce the potential risk of transmission of COVID-19.”
Students are to continue learning remotely until Dec. 18. After that, they’ll be on their Christmas break.
