A little girl has made a big gift to 980 CJME’s Santas Anonymous.
Six-year-old Harlee Marre wanted to give back to the less fortunate somehow. She mused about giving her toys away. But her mother Christine pointed out that because of the pandemic, not many people are accepting used items.
So they talked about Harlee selling her toys online.
“With my help, she posted some of her toys … and she made $130 of her own money that she’s using to buy brand-new toys to donate to Santas Anonymous,” Christine told the Greg Morgan Morning Show on Monday.
That wasn’t the end of Harlee’s generosity.
“She wanted to go bigger with it. So she asked if we could post a video on my Facebook page, asking for our friends and family to help us out,” Christine said. “And so we posted the video and she raised even more money and even more donations.”
Donations came from far and wide, Christine said, from British Columbia to Ontario.
Harlee has now raised more than $1,330, money that will be spent on new toys for children who would otherwise go without a gift during the holidays.
