A Regina man is facing child pornography charges after a two-week investigation.
According to a media release issued Tuesday morning, the Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) began investigating on Nov. 17. Officers executed a search warrant at a Regina home last Friday, looking for evidence of someone accessing child pornography through file-sharing networks.
Police allege they discovered child porn in the house. A computer and phone were seized and will be subject to a forensic analysis.
Charged in the case is Britton J. Main, 48. He was arrested and will appear in court on Jan. 19 on one count of possession of child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography. He was released from custody while awaiting his court appearance.
The Saskatchewan ICE Unit includes investigators from the RCMP, Regina Police Service, Saskatoon Police Service, and Prince Albert Police Service.
