With a system-wide return to online learning starting next week, three more Regina classrooms are closing due to positive COVID-19 diagnoses.
Regina Public Schools announced Wednesday new cases of COVID were reported by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
One case was diagnosed in an individual at Ecole Wascana Plains School in the Greens on Gardiner area of east Regina. An individual at Ecole Wilfrid Walker School, also in east Regina, tested positive, as did a person at Thom Collegiate.
The impacted classrooms will move to remote learning on Friday, but in all three cases, the rest of the school remains open for the remainder of the week.
As of Monday, all public division schools will move to remote learning, closing their doors until Jan. 11. The school board made the move after growing numbers of COVID cases in schools across the city, leading to difficulties staffing classrooms and impacting “business continuity” for the division and individual schools.
