The Saskatchewan Health Authority’s drive-through COVID-19 testing centres in Regina and Saskatoon are to extend their hours early in January after staffing complements expand.
In a media release Friday, the authority said starting Jan. 2, the testing site at Regina’s International Trade Centre on the grounds of Evraz Place (Hall C, 1700 Elphinstone St.) will operate from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.
It’s currently open every day from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Saskatoon site at 3630 Thatcher Ave., is to change its hours of operation on Jan. 4.
That facility will be open Monday to Friday from noon to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
It’s currently open Tuesday to Thursday from noon to 7:15 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The SHA also has drive-through testing sites in Prince Albert and Yorkton. Those facilities will maintain their current hours.
The site in P.A. — located at the Cone Shop Car Wash, 890 Sixth Ave. E — operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week.
In Yorkton, the facility at 276 Myrtle Ave., is open every day from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Referrals are not required at the drive-through testing sites, but people must wear a mask and have a valid Saskatchewan health card or alternate government-issued form of identification. Everyone in the vehicle should be members of the same immediate household.
The drive-through sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis.
More information on COVID testing in the province is available on the SHA website.
