An investigation into a stolen vehicle late Thursday resulted in members of the Regina Police Service’s Stolen Auto Unit handing out a $2,800 ticket under the Public Health Act.
According to a police media release, officers were dealing with a report of a stolen vehicle when they headed to a house in the 1900 block of Wallace Street at around midnight.
Inside the house, police found what they called “a large gathering of people” that exceeded the five-person limit currently allowed under Saskatchewan’s COVID-19 restrictions.
The resident was given a $2,800 ticket under the Public Health Act for violating the order.
